Ingredients

For the Beef Marinade

2 lbs beef rump or round, whole piece
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup red wine
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1-2 sprigs rosemary
Salt and pepper to taste

For the Pasticada

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 carrots, sliced
2 celery stalks, sliced
2 bay leaves
1 cup beef broth
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup prunes, pitted and chopped
1 tablespoon tomato paste

For the Gnocchi

1 lb potatoes, peeled
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg, beaten

Marinating the Beef

Combine garlic, red wine, vinegar, rosemary, salt, and pepper in a large container.

Submerge the beef in the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 12 hours or overnight.

Ensure beef is fully submerged in marinade for best results.

Remove from marinade and pat dry before cooking.

Preparing the Gnocchi

Boil potatoes until tender, then mash while still warm.
