Preparing the Cod and Potatoes

Boil the potatoes

Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water for 15-20 minutes until tender.

Poach the cod fillets

In a separate pot, poach the cod fillets in gently simmering water for 8-10 minutes until opaque and flaky.

Use fresh cod to enhance the dish's natural flavor.

Mash the potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot, add butter and milk, then mash until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Ensure the potatoes are fully cooked before mashing to avoid lumps.
