Whisk together glutinous rice flour, water, sugar, and sifted matcha powder until smooth.
Sift the matcha powder to ensure a smooth and vibrant green mochi dough.
First Microwave
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, leaving a small opening for steam, and microwave on high for 2 minutes.
Be careful when handling hot mochi dough to avoid burns.
Second Microwave
Stir the dough, re-cover, and microwave for another minute until it becomes translucent.
Cooking Process
Shaping the Mochi
Allow the dough to cool slightly, then dust a work surface with starch and knead the dough lightly.
Filling the Mochi
Flatten each portion of dough into a disc, then place a red bean filling ball in the center. Gently wrap the dough around the filling, pinching edges to seal.
