Form the dough
Add the egg to the butter mixture and mix until combined, then slowly fold in the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until a dough forms.
Chilling the Dough
Refrigerate the dough
Shape the dough into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Do not skip the chilling step, or the cookies may spread too much.
Preheat the oven
