For the Agua de Jamaica

1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
(flor de Jamaica)
4 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
adjust to taste
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
3 cups cold water

Infusing the Hibiscus

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

Add the dried hibiscus flowers and reduce the heat to low.

Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and let the flowers steep for an additional 20 minutes.
