Preparing the Meatballs
Soak Breadcrumbs
In a large bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit until absorbed.
Mix Ingredients
Add ground beef, pork, egg, onion, salt, pepper, and allspice. Mix until well combined.
Do not over-mix the meatball mixture to avoid tough meatballs.
Shape Meatballs
Shape mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
Chill meatballs for 30 minutes before cooking to help them hold their shape.
Making the Lingonberry Sauce
Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine lingonberry preserves, water, and lemon juice.
Heat Sauce
Heat on medium until well combined and slightly thickened.
Cool Sauce
Set aside to cool.
Cooking Process
Sear Meatballs
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
Make Dill Sauce
In the same skillet, melt butter, add flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in beef broth and cream, simmer until thickened. Stir in dill.
Combine and Simmer
Return meatballs to the skillet with the dill sauce and simmer until cooked through.
