For the Meatballs

1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp allspice

For the Lingonberry Sauce

1 cup lingonberry preserves
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp lemon juice

For the Dill Sauce

2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped

For the Side

Preparing the Meatballs

Soak Breadcrumbs

In a large bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit until absorbed.

Mix Ingredients

Add ground beef, pork, egg, onion, salt, pepper, and allspice. Mix until well combined.

Do not over-mix the meatball mixture to avoid tough meatballs.

Shape Meatballs

Shape mixture into 1-inch meatballs.

Chill meatballs for 30 minutes before cooking to help them hold their shape.

Making the Lingonberry Sauce

Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine lingonberry preserves, water, and lemon juice.

Heat Sauce

Heat on medium until well combined and slightly thickened.

Set aside to cool.
