Ingredients

For the Tempeh

400g tempeh
cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar

For the Tamarind Glaze

1/2 cup tamarind paste
1/4 cup honey
2 cloves garlic
minced
1 tbsp ginger
grated
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp water
1 tsp chili flakes

For the Garnish

2 tbsp sesame seeds
toasted
2 spring onions
sliced

Marinating the Tempeh

Combine soy sauce and rice vinegar

Combine soy sauce and rice vinegar in a bowl.

Add tempeh and toss to coat

Add tempeh pieces and toss to coat.

Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Preparing the Tamarind Glaze

Combine base ingredients

In a saucepan, combine tamarind paste, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.

Add soy sauce, water, and chili flakes.

Simmer until thickened

Simmer over low heat until slightly thickened.
